During the holidays a segment of the population will go overboard on gift buying for family and friends

Depending on their relationship to you determine the amount of money you should spend. Remember the priority here is to be able to afford the gift that you choose for them. If not, you have chosen a gift that cost too much money and you will need to adjust your choice. If you begin this process early enough into the season its possible you could save the money for the gifts you wish to buy. Another plan you may want to implement is shopping year round. Choose the items you wish to give shop for them when they are on sale or better yet on clearance and purchase them as you find them. This will spread your spending over a period of time and will allow you to take advantage of the best possible price to be found.
