. The big day finally arrived with the couple tying the knot on July 10 at the Ritz Carlton Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga. Few details have been released about the event but Us Magazine is reporting that the bride wore a Chantilly lace Monique Lhuillier gown. In other Underwood news, the country singer was also the most-played "American Idol" act on radio last week, according to the site Mediabase. Her latest single "Undo It" is rocketing up the charts and is currently at the number three position on USA Today's Country. Some other songs of hers that saw an increase in radio play included "Last Name," "All American Girl" and "Before He Cheats."
Carrie Underwood became the first country music singer to win the "American Idol" competition. Shortly after she was crowned the winner in 2005 Underwood released her debut single, "Inside Your Heaven." Her first album, Some Hearts, followed shortly afterward and became an immediate success on the charts. Eventually Some Hearts went platinum an astounding seven times and spawned the hit single "Jesus Take the Wheel."
Underwood set to work on her sophomore album in 2007; the record was released in October of the same year. Carnival Ride further propelled Underwood to the top of the country charts, and even earned her a Grammy Award. The record featured a vast collection of impressive tunes including "Flat on the Floor," "So Small," "Get Out of This Town" and "Last Name."
Underwood wasted no time in preparing for her next album, which was ultimately released in 2009. Play On demonstrated her abilities not only as a singer but for the first time as a songwriter. The album spawned the first successful track "Cowboy Casanova" as well as several other songs like "Someday When I Stop Loving You," "This Time" and "Mama's Song."
Carrie Underwood recently wrapped up the first leg of her Play On Tour and will hit the road again starting Sept. 25 at the Rose Garden in Portland, Ore. Before then, she will also appear at several musical events including the Today Show's Summer Concert Series, the Greenbrier Classic (which she will co-headline with Brad Paisley) and the Ravinia Festival.
