Fuerteventura is an Island just 60 or so miles off the coast of Africa
. The Islands of the Balearics are opposite the border of Morocco and the Western Sahara. For this reason Fuerteventura enjoys an incredibly good climate all year round. There are a number of ports you can visit from which you will be able to take many trips. If you are not a competent diver there are some exciting trips to be had on glass bottomed boats or even submarines. The Subcat Submarine dives as deep as 30 meters just of the beautifully clear waters of Morro Jable. For something a little more traditional you can climb aboard the Pedra Sartaa this is a tall ship which sails from Morro Jable Harbour, you'll be able to dive, swim, snorkel and enjoy the sunshine aboard this classic ship.

In the centre of the village is the 17th century Iglesia de Santa Maria, it took almost a century to build after the previous church was destroyed by the Berber Pirates. Interestingly the original church on this site had the status of a Cathedral and was assigned a Bishop - who never showed up to do his job, maybe because of the location of the 'cathedral'. On the northern outskirts of the village is the roof-less ruin of a 15th century Franciscan Monastery, the Monasterio de San Buenaventura.
