? You may be way of track, but there may be just a few changes that you need to make in order to set things back in the right direction. However, this is not to be done for any other reason but to know exactly where you are starting from. If you're at the mall and you don't know where a store is, you have to go to the big map they have near the entrance. You look up the store that you want to go to, and you're set to go, right? You can't go anywhere until you make sure you know where you are starting from.
This must be done as objectively as possible. If you have to, maybe ask a friend, or someone who also knows your defiant children well, for their honest views of the family situation. Getting someone else's view can be very enlightening because you've been living it every day, and may not see how bad things have gotten. You need to assure the third party that there honest input is needed, and will not cause any problems. The truth can be painful, but in the end, it will set you free. Besides, the truth is what it is, whether you choose to know it or not is another matter.
The next positive parenting tip has to do with you and your parenting techniques. You really need to understand that your children, since they were very young, have been a sponge and a mirror, soaking up everything you say and do, and repeating it back to the world whenever the spirit moves them.
Your children, as time as evolved, have become the scape goat for all of their bad behaviors, but the problem does not, most times, lie with them. I don't know you, but I already know you haven't been the perfect parent. I know this because no one is perfect. You absolutely need to let go of the past, and that includes any guilt, shame, or remorse you feel over what has or hasn't transpired between you and your children.
