Can You Ever Really Have Chemistry Online?

Can You Ever Really Have Chemistry Online?

Online dating can be seen as a pressure-free way for men and women to communicate

with one another in a safe environment, to hopefully find someone compatible enough with them to go out on a date. Compared to going to meet someone face to face, online dating allows a person to find out all the information they need to know about a prospective partner, first through a series of personal questions to determine whether or not a long term relationship with them would be worth pursuing.

Some people may have doubts as to whether or not they have a real chance of finding someone special through a dating website, and if they can really develop chemistry with someone online. This is a reasonable concern among many single people looking for a partner. Will it ever happen for me?

What Is Chemistry?

Chemistry is often an unspoken, powerful emotional bond that can develop when meeting someone for the first time. The only way chemistry can work successfully is for the other person to share this emotion as well and not be just a passing whim. Chemistry can develop from looking at someone's physical qualities or from listening to their voice.

Chemistry can further develop once two people share many life experiences, needs and core values in common. The potential for two people to feel something special for each other online is possible as long as there is honest communication between them. It's important that chemistry be based on how someone feels on a variety of subjects no matter how candid the answer. Forming a romantic attachment with someone who has not been totally honest about their feelings makes developing chemistry with them useless.

Is Chemistry Formed Through Websites Really Genuine?

The process of dating online has real potential for people forming a healthy chemistry between them. When messaging back and forth with someone, it can be a determining factor of whether an individual will want to continue to chat with a potential partner based on the level of their conversations. There's a very good chance that the connection a person feels with someone they've met online will be more genuine once they meet them in person and expectations are high.

The nature of dating in any form is no exact science. Sharing chemistry online with someone is not a guarantee that they and that individual will be able to have a successful long term relationship. Sometimes chemistry is nothing more than a physical attraction that has no potential of ever going any further. Whether you share chemistry with someone online or not is a gamble. It will eventually involve some direct contact with that person in the future to determine if they have something meaningful.
