We generally tend to take children shopping and buy them the toys they ask for without thinking much about them
. After all children think of toys as something to play with naturally. They are not likely to think and understand that toys are the tools that they can use to learn and experiment with things. Toys are built with the purpose of not only being game equipment but also to teach children to explore and learn.Parents can easily understand the child's psychology as well as preferences and accordingly they can choose appropriate toys. Many children are born with certain inborn skills and gifts, which can be seen very early in life. You do see sometimes children have an ear for music while someone else may have an eye for color and drawing. If you are able to recognize and nurture such talent in your children, they can grow to making their hobbies as profession and excel in their field.
We do not mean that all children will have artistic inclination. Many are more into physical activities and sports. A lot many children also love pulling apart and putting things together. They can probably grow up and become architects or engineers. If a child is interested in biology or has a scientific temper we will be able to detect the same in early stages and therefore encourage them accordingly. While many more are tech savvy and IT Geeks too.
As parents there are things that you can do to help children during their early growing years. To begin with, buy your child a toy camera and let him keep clicking pictures. Allow him to discover, play with it and learn how to click photos. With every game he plays or a party he attends, he will start clicking pictures. When you go out on a tour or a trip, you will find him exploring the outside environment and capturing images in his toy camera like the adults do.
In no time he will find out the principle how the camera works and also try and ask you questions to understand more. If you show him better cameras and explain, you are sure to catch his attention.He will start looking at capturing better images and frames. This is one of the best ways of engaging your child into a healthy hobby. When you sit down to evaluate every picture that he has clicked, he will learn to improve. Ensure that you save all the images clicked neatly into different files and folders.
As he grows up, you should get him a digital camera and also a movie camera. Most of the times you will already be having these at home. Now he is old enough to use it. If interested, you can get your child to attend a basic workshop in photography where he will learn all about photos, lights and camera.
This will be a very useful hobby for your son when he becomes an adult.Either he will become a renowned photographer or he would have learnt the art very well and be able to use it effectively as an aid in his profession. It makes him a more sensitive being to colors and nature too.
