My Advice to Anyone is Please Buy a Stair lift Sooner rather than Later
The most popular statement we hear when we install a stair lift is, "I wish I had bought one earlier."
Now if I had a penny for every time someone had said that I would be rich!
It is a funny thing how we can put off buying the one thing that will help us keep our freedom and independence, a stair lift gives us a choice to stay in our home where we belong. Moving home when we get older is such an upheaval and a very costly venture at that.
Without a stair lift the stairs can seem daunting and dangerous at times, as we get older we are not as nimble as we used to be. The amount of staircase assessments we have attended where people actually get around by crawling up the stairs and sliding down on their bottoms, and then a fall has occurred when they have tripped and caused injury. You will be amazed at the amount of visits where people have injured themselves in this way. And other visits where they haven't but end up in hospital and Occupational Therapist will not let them home until they have a stair lift installed.
My advice to anyone is please buy a stair lift sooner rather than later, and keeps yourself safe and independent. Well I for one when I get old enough will be getting a stair lift if I need one as it makes sense, we all need to put our safety first and our pride second.
After each installation we do we call the user to ensure they are happy and as you have guessed what the majority say, "oh it's wonderful I wish I had bought one earlier."

Do I need a Curved or Straight Stair Lift?
Stair lifts are made in two varieties curved or straight. The straight stair lifts are simpler to install and have a standard straight rail that is cut to the exact measurements of the staircase, a simple survey is all that is needed, this assesses if the staircase is wide enough and there are no obstacles at the bottom or top of the stairs.
A straight stair lift can be fit in a couple of hours with very little mess or fuss and if you are in urgent need next day installation is available in most cases.
Sometimes a straight stair lift is not so simple but in most cases it is, a good surveyor will be able to tell you in five minutes what you will need and whether the stair lift will fit onto your staircase.
Curved Stair lift
Any bend on the staircase means a curved rail will have to tailor-made to your staircase, these are a little bit more costly and they take time to manufacture. A good surveyor will come and take exact measurements and then the rail will fit tightly to the bends of your stairs.
