You know what one of the main problems with losing weight is? Everyone is making things so complicated.

From my own experience, when I first study a program on how to increase weight loss results, I won't even try it unless it's simple.

And one of the simplest, yet single most effective methods to losing weight I've found has been intermittent fasting.

It doesn't take money. It doesn't require hype. And no special foods are required.

So, what the heck is this intermittent fasting?

Intermittent fasting is simply, not eating for around 24 hours. This is typically done a couple times a week at the very most. Try not to confuse it with a multiple-day "cleanse."

It's really one of the easiest ways to decrease the amount of calories coming into your body to increase and speed up your weight results.

Fad diets and starvation plans have been around for so long and it's amazing how many people continue to try them knowing that others have had poor results.

But a strategic fast can do wonders where overnight weight stories have failed.

It sounds easy, but you can't be careless the rest of the week.

I don't care how many days you decide to fast. If during the other normal days you kick back mounds and mounds of fat, you're going to see almost nonexistent results!

Using common sense with a fast routine and incorporate healthy eating habits along the way.

What you should understand is that losing weight is all about calories in and out.

In order to lose weight, your body needs to be burning more calories than it consumes.

If you go through an intermittent fast twice a week, you dramatically reduce the number of calories coming in.

When your body doesn't notice any new calories coming in, it tries to find energy from calorie sources that already exist like stored fat. So, the fat around your waistline begins to burn away.

If you don't provide any new calories for your body to feed from, it's forced to use what's already there.

But won't this slow down my metabolism like crazy?

Don't bet on it. When it comes to fasting, there's always this big scare that by depriving your body of food for a short period, that you're going to trigger a state known as "starvation mode."

Starvation mode is the idea of your body recognizing that calories are not coming in as they once were and reacting by running every systematic process at half its speed and capacity.

Now, this is actually true, but... you won't see effects like this unless you fast for two days straight! And... you wouldn't notice a strong consistent shift until 2 weeks later!

The most difficult thing is mental stability. Your body doesn't change easily.

One of the common reasons that fasting isn't as popular is because of the first couple days. During these first two days, the hunger urges and weakness side effects are strongest.

I can remember during my first attempt at intermittent fasting, I was ready to bite off a chunk of my arm.

Pacing back and forth across my living room, I needed anything to distract me from hunger.

The following day, things were suddenly much easier, and by the end of the week my body had fully adjusted, and feeling overly hungry hasn't happened since.

The first couple days are really just a mind game. Your body can go 12 hours or more without food.

It has safety systems in place for this very purpose, and when it gets the signal, it'll starting eating away at all your stored fat. Just remember to stay strong and have some self-discipline.
