Book A Holiday Via A Travel Agent Or Book Direct

Book A Holiday Via A Travel Agent Or Book Direct

When booking a holiday you can Book via a Travel Agent known as a package holiday

or book direct online, for example you can book the flights, hotel and transfers yourself all separately yourself.

There are some advantages to both and also some disadvantages. When booking via a travel agent you are dealing with a knowledgeable person that can make recommendations on where to stay or who to fly with. Many will have first-hand knowledge on your destination, or at the very least, have more information available to them than you would have easy access to.

They might be able to recommend which beach is better for what activities interest you, or what sites are around that you wish to see, tell you how far a particular site is from where you are staying or what it is going to cost you do a certain activity, what is included in the price and what is not.

When booking a holiday yourself much of this information is not available easily from the travel site, or you will have to spends hours researching your destination where you would like to visit. Often you may have to go to each site at your desired destination and see what is available there and compare the destination yourself.Book A Holiday Via A Travel Agent Or Book Direct

However if you do book yourself, you can make some significant savings, sometimes you can save yourself 50% of what the travel agents are charging. At the very least you will save the commission that is paid to the travel agent.

Booking a holiday yourself can be less of a hassle if you are going to a resort or location that you have been to before, or that has been recommended by a friend that has been there. This way you will know what to expect. Even if it is a new destination and you have to look up everything yourself, it is quite possible to research the location, and compare the amenities to determine where to stay and how to get there.

Another advantage of booking with a travel agent is that you have a certain amount of protection. Not all destinations are safe for tourists and travel agents receive newsletters and discuss trouble spots amongst themselves so that they are aware of where to go to be safe or what precautions should be taken at certain spots.

Booking via a travel agent you will also be protected.

If the company you booked the holiday with goes bust and they are ATOL protected you will not be left stranded at the destination you're in.

For more information about ATOL you can contact them on 08444 933 037
