Guide to picking Bohol Beach Resorts in Panglao Island

There are numerous resorts in Bohol mainly in Panglao Island beside Bohol mainland. There are several areas in Panglao Island where these are located.

Alona Beach, the most popular albeit 'touristy' area, is a 1 kilometer long white sand beach, where you can find Amorita, Alona Tropical, Alona Pyramid, Golden Palm, Alona Kew, Isis Bungalows, and other seafront accommodations. Restaurants and resorts in Alona are close together. The beach is not as clean or clear as Bolod area but it is still a great white sand beach. From here you may go diving or dolphin watching in Balicasag Island Marine sanctuary or the many dive spots nearby. Rates range from PhP 2000-7000+ per room, good for two.Bohol Beach Resorts - Guide to the Best Panglao Island Resorts

Bolod Beach area, meanwhile, is a quieter 1.5 kilometer long white sand beach, home to Amarela, Bohol Beach Club, Whites and Greens, Dumaluan, and the upscale Eskaya Resort and Spa. Resorts are far from each other unlike those in Alona beach. Bolod beach is great for swimming and snorkling as the waters are clean, clear and the sand is very fine. It also has a great sunrise. It is a jumpoff point to Pamilacan Island, playground of the dolphins. Resort rates also range from PhP 2000 - 7000+ per room, good for two.

Other areas include Danao area which is east of Alona where you can find Linaw Beach and Dauis area where you can find Panglao Island Nature Resort or Bohol Sherwood Dive Resort. Bohol resorts in Dauis area are usually located on cliffside properties with great overlooking views of the sea. However, the beaches in the area are smaller compared to those in Bolod or Alona. Some resorts in the area, except for Panglao island Nature, do not have a sandy beach but just straight access to the sea.

Here are some a list of the top choices for Budget, Midpriced and Luxury Beach Resorts in Panglao Island, Bohol:

Budget - Whites and Greens, Alona Tropical, or Isis Bungalows. Rooms from PhP 2000 per night (for two)

Midpriced - Amarela (a cozy and homey boutique resort with hardwood furnishings). From PhP 5,500 per night (for two)

Luxury- Panglao Island Nature and Amorita Resort. From PhP 7000+ per night (for two).

Be sure to pick the best Bohol Resort for your next trip to the island!
