Bear Plush Toys & Interesting Bear Facts

Everyone needs a hug once and a while and there is no better way to get one than

with bear plush toys; they are just the beary best furbulous friend no matter which way you look at it.

Bear plush toys are here to stay; they are so perfect in their 'grizzled' exterior, having been ingeniously adapted to fit into the many arms which extend to them. They are not only bear-like enough to lift themselves above juvenile criticism but possess semi-human attributes which fit them exceedingly well for youthful companionship. Bear plush toys are every inch a bear and yet they embody exactly the doll qualities which are often demanded by children. They are well made; they have the true gift of adaptability as they can be made to crawl, climb, stand, or sit. In each of these poses, bear plush toys are not only delightfully themselves, but they also suggest to their imaginative owner whatever special being they would want their bear to personify.

With eight living species of bear (black bear, brown bear, polar bear, Asiatic black bear, sloth bear, spectacled bear, sun bear, and giant panda), manufacturers have drawn on these adorable animals for inspiration in recreating them into bear plush toys. The polar bear, American black bear, and the panda are particularly popular. The direct ancestors of the bear as we know it today, appeared on Earth close to two and a half million years ago. Over time, members of the bear family divided into three distinct lines: Two in Asia (black and brown bears), and the third in Europe. The European bear (or 'Cave Bear' as it was once known) became extinct thousands of years ago and where they once lived was eventually taken over by brown bears. Today, bears can be found on four of the six continents with the exception of Antarctica and Australia.

The brown bear can be found through most of the northern hemisphere including America and Eurasia and they live primarily in mountainous forested regions. The grizzly bear can be found only in North America and their fur differs from that of the brown bear in that it has cream or white tips which give them their grizzled appearance. It has been thought that polar bears descended from the brown bear but have adapted to be able to survive in the extreme climate of the polar regions like Canada, the United States, Russia, Norway, and Greenland. Like the brown bear, the American black bear is the most common in North America and can be found as far north as the Arctic, through most of Canada and the U.S. As their name suggests, their fur is mostly black but can also be various shades of brown.

Given any of the bear species appearances, it's no wonder bear plush toys make them an obvious choice of soft toy. Bear plush toys are after all, pawfectly huggable and the best furry friend any child could have.
