Many goods sold especially for Christmas Day, for example, Christmas clothes, shoes, food, toys and so on, are actually of worse quality compared with those sold on other days. It is also because of this that the sellers have more space for discounting and other promotions. You should keep one thing in your mind. The sellers would always try to make money.
Secondly, before you make your decision to buy something, you should figure out your purpose. For example, if you are considering of buying some gifts for children, either for yours or for that of your relatives, you should focus more on those exclusively for children. You should keep telling yourself that you don't need anything for yourself, because you just need something for the kids. By doing this, you would not buy anything useless. If you want to buy your friends some gifts and if you want to give them something really good, my suggestion is that you go to those decent stores for goods of solid quality directly. Don't be dazzled by those cheap things promoted in the streets. Therefore, knowing the precise purpose of why you want to buy something would really be of great help keeping you from buying many gifts, which you buy merely because of their low price.
