My mom taught me to be modest from the time that I was a little girl
. Because of that, I've never owned a bikini, but it seems like even one piece bathing suits have a tendency to be more revealing than I want them to be. That's why I think that the women's tankini swimsuit is such a great innovation.
The truth is that even though the tankini is a two piece bathing suit, in many instances it covers a lot more skin than a one piece does.
In many cases when I've tried to purchase a one piece bathing suit, I discover that while I'm pleased with part of the suit, I'm not comfortable with the rest. It can be extremely frustrating. There are some items that I enjoy shopping for, but because of the stress surrounding finding the perfect bathing suit, I always dread the day when my old one will wear out and I'll have to find a new one.
For example, there are plenty of suits that are modest, to the point of even having little skirts on the bottom, but are so low cut that I would feel like I was going to fall out of the top. In some miraculous cases, I can actually find a bathing suit that's modest at the top, but the miracle doesn't seem to last below anywhere below the navel because the hips are so high cut.
Tankini's solve all of these issues. In many cases you can buy the bottom and the top separately so that you can get the best of both worlds. If you're a good shopper, it's highly possible that you can find a suit that will perfectly fit your needs.
If you're like me and prefer a bathing suit that will completely cover your bum, you can go ahead and pick a bottom out that will do so. From there, you can peruse the tops and find one that will cover as much of you as you want covered so that you never have to feel uncomfortable or worry about the mysterious strangers at the pool that could be seeing a little more than you want them to.
The advent of the women's tankini swimsuit has done a lot to make swimming suit shopping less complicated. It also makes the whole swimming experience more enjoyable for those of us who love to swim, but don't love to show off all that God's given us to every random person that we pass on the street.
