Bandhavgarh National Park is situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh

. The well known Indian state located in the centre of the country is endowed with natural beauty. This wild life sanctuary here grabs the attention of many. The Bandhavgarh National Park is located at a distance of around 195 from the famous town of Jabalpur, its lies north-east to Jabalpur. This wild life sanctuary is named after an old fort which was situated in this area. The Bandhavgarh National Park belongs to the Vindhyan mountain ranges which lie in the central India and it brags to have the maximum density of tigers in the whole India. At present there are only about 46 to 52 tigers which can be seen over here as the tigers are reducing in number at a faster pace.

National Parks are the most ideal place for the adventure seekers and for those who love to be close to the nature. Here one can see the large variety of animals in open. It is assumed that The Bandhavgarh Park was initially a home for the white tigers. However we barely see any white tigers now in the park. The visitors coming to this sanctuary can have the best time of life as they get an opportunity to be close to the nature. It is believed that white tigers in India were sited only in Bandhavgarh Forest.

Bandhavgarh National Park was given the status of a park in the year 1968. This land has been used for hunting purpose once by the members of the royal family of Rewa. This site later became famous due to the existence of WHITE TIGERS, which gradually vanished.

Though there are no white tigers in Bandhavgarh Forest still the tourists go as one gets the chance to have a glimpse of variety of other animals namely Chausingha, Nilgai, Chital, Chinkara, Fox or Jackal and Wild Boar and many more. Roving through the forest of Bandhavgarh on the back of an Elephant Back one can also have the chance of seeing a tiger which might soon extinct.

The visitors can wander about in The Bandhavgarh National Park in the car as well as on the elephant back. The best way to enjoy the beauty of the place is to take an elephant ride. The animals can be seen here moving under open sky one can have the most adventurous experience being in this forest.
