Our cruise starts moving at 12:39 noon and what follows is a string of little discoveries that are unique to Kerala. To begin with, you will be welcomed and treated to an elaborative and traditional lunch, prepared the traditional way. We are generous with spices, but we make food without spice or little spice, depending on customers choice. The lunch is quite well known among the locals and tourists alike, and it includes many conventional dishes. The lunch probably sets the stage for an unhurried exploration with Kerala.
You can take a short nap if you feel like it, but it would be more advisable if you look out and keep your gaze steady. As you glide across, you will come in contact with many features that are strictly Kerala in nature. If you are an idle traveller, lounge comfortably in our patio or recline on the sun-deck which acts as an ideal platform for an unhindered view outside. There are lots of sightseeing of quaint things to look out for, from the ducks waddling in flock to fishermen getting their daily catch. For an intimate rendezvous with nature, active fun seekers can step out during one of the moorings. You can also swim all alone or with some kids, if you could find them. You can get a fresh catch yourself by throwing bait and get it fried or sauteed to your taste. Watch the toddy-trappers in action or you can have a bottle of freshly-tapped toddy, sweet Liquor in the country.
Most houseboats are basically single or double roomed for 2 to 4 people respectively and you could hear the dawn and the far off distant calls of the churches and temples that dot the backwaters, but the most pleasurable sleeping space will be under the mosquito nets on the small sundeck waking.
Your main course of menu would include local fish such black spot, tiger prawns and scampi as well as curried dishes, daal and rice and it would be cooked by the crew.
