Baby Shower Decorations Set A Festive Tone

While the entire room does not need to be covered from top to bottom in party supplies, a tasteful selection of unique baby shower decorations makes the event more festive.
Hanging Decorations
The one item that always makes a party a party is a banner, especially if it is a surprise for the expectant mother. Hang multiple banners on the wall and suspend them from the ceiling across the room. This gives the atmosphere a special touch and makes it obvious to the guest of honor that she has, in fact, been surprised with a baby shower. Add streamers and this creates a colorful display.
Table Art
After coordinating the number of tables needed for a baby shower, tablecloths should be selected. This sets the scene for colors and themes. Each table can match or, if there are multiple colors in the theme, such as a safari or bunch of blocks, each table can sport a contrasting tablecloth.
Centerpieces should enhance the table, not overpower it. For a large baby shower with multiple tables for seated guests, consider awarding the centerpieces at the end of the party as door prizes. The hostess can put a sticker underneath the chair of one lucky recipient per table and, at the end, announce that whoever has the sticker is the winner of the center piece. This is especially exciting when there is a flower arrangement or creative craft involved.
Paper plates, cups, napkins and utensils should match or coordinate with the color of the tablecloths. Party favors should be set at each place or, in the case of a buffet without full seating, they may have a table of their own. This is the time for the party planner to be creative. The favors can feature nuts or candies wrapped in any number of miniature items, such as diapers made from napkins, plastic or paper containers with unique shapes or wrapped in tulle.
Balloons
Enforce the baby shower decor with helium filled balloons. These may be tied to chair backs or held down on tabletops with festive weights. If the hostess uses a large carriage or bassinet for guests to put all of the gifts into, balloons may adorn that as well. If not, these can be fashioned into an arch or cluster to highlight a gift table or chair for the mother-to-be.
