And as always, people can expect a week-long celebration commemorating the event.For those who do not know, Australia Day is the considered to be the country's birthday. The talk will cover views and concerns regarding Australia's current status, as well as its future. For the first time, this year's address will be delivered by a non-Australian. However, Sir Michael Parkinson, CBE, an English journalist, has been quite a notable one for many Australians, having traveled to the country many times.Aside from the talk, many people would definitely watch out for the celebrations to be held in the major cities. One of these that many would definitely want to catch is the Australia Day Regatta, an annual boat race that is held in the Sydney Harbour. Dubbed the Awesome Forces, the presentation will showcase the capabilities of the country's defense forces. The Royal Australian Air Force, in particular, will be showcasing their aerial acrobatics in the skies above the harbour.And as a way to help in the relief efforts for those affected by the Queensland floods earlier this month, there will be several fund raising concerts to be held across the country.
