Anxiety Attacks in Children

Anxiety attacks in children can be terrifying for any parent

. Watching your child go through great lengths just to avoid facing their fears can be devastating. What's worse is that, if this condition is left untreated, it can ruin your child's future and his or her whole dream.

Fortunately, there are many ways you can do to help your children avoid getting this type of condition. You can also do some of these methods even if the symptoms of anxiety disorder are already seen on your child.

First of all, make sure your that they always get enough sleep. If you have children at the age of five to twelve, you have to make sure that they get 10 to 11 hours of sleep. And, if you have children at the age of twelve to eighteen, make sure they sleep for about 8 and a half to 10 hours. As for preschoolers, they will need about 11 to 13 hours of sleep. Many studies show that people, especially children, who are deprived of sleep, are susceptible to depression and anxiety attacks.

Second, make sure they eat right. Eating properly means having a balanced diet of vegetables, seafood, dairy and meat. If your child is already suffering from anxiety attacks, it will be best to increase their intake of vegetables and seafood and cut low on meat. Fish are good sources of omega 3 fatty acids which can help the body to produce serotonin which is a chemical that can make people feel good.Anxiety Attacks in Children

Third, teach them to exercise or meditate. Meditation exercises and practices can greatly help in preventing and dealing with anxiety attacks. Both of these activities are easy to learn and are not time-consuming. Take your child for a short walk at the park at least thrice a week. Or you can schedule meditation time before eating your dinner. Not only will this help prevent anxiety attacks and other health problems, exercising and meditating will also a good way to bond with your children.
