The first thing that strikes one with aleralash.com is the short stabbing pain behind the eyes. Red on zebra print layout is just not something that is expected in the year 2010. Speaking of which, the 80's just rang me up, they wanted their website back.
The website cannot be found easily. When trying to enter search terms like "eyelashes," "longer eyelashes," "grow longer eyelashes," aleralash.com does not show up in the top twenty search results. Even using "alera" doesn't bring up the website. Only "alera lash" made it come out of whatever Internet limbo it was hiding in, and then regret set in.
The clashing colors distract from the text on the main page. The only reason the purpose of the site is still noticeable is the gaudy splashes of gold seals screaming about that longer lashes are guaranteed in two weeks. Just looking at the site is makes a person's lashes curl, along with her hair and toes. It is fortunate that there is some ibuprofen nearby.
The site is simple enough that it functions, since all it's trying to do is sell the visitor something, anything that is closely related to the eyes. This, of course, means the whole face. The site is navigable, which again is probably due to the simplicity of it, instead of actual conscious design. There is a link that takes you to its list of products.
