By having 3 medium-size meals (breakfast/lunch/dinner) combined with 2 small meals (mid-morning snack/mid-afternoon snack) you lessen the chance that you'll overeat at one of the bigger meals and thus ruin whatever weight loss you had going that day.

Avoid sugary, fatty, high calorie, or junk foods. It is best to avoid fatty and processed foods like ice creams, chocolates, pizzas, burgers, fries, and chips as they are rich in calories. So six small meals will be better at keeping you satiated than three large ones. Second, you need to give yourself permission to have snacks. Many people find comfort in knowing they can have that bedtime snack, albeit a small, reasonable one, and that they are still making smart choices for their health.

Everyone owns a bike, and using it on a regular basis is a great way to lose weight. If you need to run a few errands that don't require you to travel a great distance, ride your bike. It's a great way to burn calories and boost your metabolism if you have the time.

An effective way to lose weight is to gradually reduce the amount of calories you eat everyday. By eating less calories everyday than you normally would, you'll slowly start losing fat. A good rule of thumb is to reduce your daily calorie intake by five hundred calories.

You need to set realistic goals. Take a before and after picture of yourself each time you meet a goal. Set short term goals and long term goals. Save your very first picture and compare them to each picture when you meet your different short term goals. You will soon begin to see the weight you have lost with your own eyes. Each time you reach a short term goal make another short term goal until you reach your long term goal.
