Keeping in mind the fascination with experimenting with popular foods, this reviewer approached Wild Willys Western, in India Habitat Centres Eatopia, month long Desi Pizza festival (Rs. 125 onwards) with keen albeit careful enthusiasm. After much deliberation it was Kadhai Chicken that won the fight as far as toppings went.
The festival throws up eight, four vegetarian--Paneer Corn Chilly, Channa Masala, Paneer-Peas Chilly, the ubiquitous Kadhai Panner and four non-vegetarian options-- Keema, Kadhai Paneer, Seekh Kebab and Chicken Chettinad.
Usually one would end up choosing the most popular option from the section but this being strange toppings on pizzas even the chefs recommendation of the fast selling Keema or Seekh Kabab couldnt deter my choice.
The concept of Eatopia as a food court seems to be in a transitory phase. For a food court that open to non-members Eatopia has a lot to offer when it comes to variety especially the Indian food counter but the pricing seems to be going a bit array.
In addition the wait is unusually long considering that food court is supposedly on the go. Some times the wait does you good and some part of it was right for the whole Desi Pizza escapade.
While the taste of the Kadhai Chicken Pizza was innovatively different the presentation left a lot to be desired. The pizza was accompanied by all the other trappings of a food court like trying to serve fast.
Maybe the sheer volume of patrons scares the chefs who seem to rush through things. The Kadhai Chicken Pizza could have done with a little more of the customary capsicum that adds the zest to any kadhai dish, the cheese and the chicken was nice and smoky.
The debate continues then; just as youd be getting used to the idea of exotic toppings on pizzas some times the balance tilts when least expected.
You can find a lot og pizza restaurants in Delhi and near by those who Served from the Wild Willys Western kiosk at the Habitat World Food Court, the Desi Pizza festival also has two combos to choose from.
Hmm while you take your time to decide, kill the time thinking with some nachos that Wild Willys Western serves. Food Court, a stall called Wild Willy, a pizza with Indian toppings and a long waiting period maybe its a little too much of experimentation.
In that case Willy had a regular pizzas as welllong live margarita.
