A Money Making Scheme Of A Personal Injury Lawyer

Share: A lawyer from Texas came up with a unique and well thought out plan to make money from the laptop computer industry
. Have a lawsuit filed against the company for a problem that never happened. If you are one of those involved in selling laptop computers, then you shouldn't be laughing about this. Similar lawsuits have been filed against another five companies, and this could lead to price increases very soon.
When a lawyer filed a $9 billion lawsuit against a Japanese appliance maker, he was able to get from the company a settlement of $2 billion. A manufacturer of laptop computers as well, this company made the decision to settle the suit outside of court than risk losing more in court.
Because of this, he and a group of lawyers would get around $147 million in contingency fees. The company also gave cash rebates and discount coupons to the millions who had already bought their notebook computers during the last ten years. Two men who owned laptops made by the company were the plaintiffs of this lawsuit.
Recipients of a $25,000 each from the settlement, the two men said that there was a possibility of data corruption or loss in the technology. Any damaging effects that could supposedly be caused by the flaw did not even happen to any of these two men.

Share: No complaint had ever reached the Japanese corporation before about this so called defect. Complaints were nonexistent, said the computer maker, until the lawsuit was filed against the company. During the extensive laboratory tests, the company did not witness any loss of data that may have resulted from the law.
The Japanese company would have suffered a terrible blow to its finances if they lost the jury trial. It's like throwing blood soaked meat into the Gulf of Mexico, claimed legal observers who comment on the move of the company to surrender.
The sharks moved in almost before the sound of the splash faded. Personal injury lawyers did the same thing, filing copycat lawsuits against five computer manufacturers who may have used the NEC floppy control chip.
These businesses are receiving lawsuits left and right, causing them to consider layoffs. This has led to greater problems still. The billion dollar settlements may cause prices of personal computers to go down, stated a New York financial analyst. Falling computer prices are considered by economics experts as being one of the reasons what inflation remained low in the United States for almost twenty years.
A few hundred dollars is what you would spend to buy low priced computers that work faster and better than costly computers 20 years ago. The prices of computers would skyrocket if the laptop manufacturers are bullied by greedy plaintiffs. Those who have to work two jobs just to make ends meet will not like this.
