1. Blarney Castle & Blarney Woollen Mills

No trip to Cork, or indeed the southwest of Ireland, would be complete without a journey to the town of Blarney which is home to the world famous Blarney Castle' and Blarney Woollen Mills'. Situated six miles north of Cork City, these attractions are visited every year by thousands of people, eager to receive the gift of the gab' (the gift of eloquence) by kissing the Blarney Stone at the top of Blarney Castle and then proceed to buy traditional goods in the nearby mills. 2. Cobh - Last stop of the Titanic

Then known as Queenstown, Cobh (pronounced 'cove') is situated in Cork Harbour (said to be the second largest natural harbour in the world) and is home to approximately 11,000 people. Every year it holds it's peoples regatta' around August and consists of live music and dance. Cobh was the last stop for the Titanic on it's fateful voyage in April of 1912. Cobh Heritage Centre contains a a lot of memorabilia concerning the history of the town and is worth seeing. Saint Colman's cathedral overlooks the town and makes for a nice picture on a clear day, especially when the biggest ocean liners in the world come in to dock regularly.

3. Kinsale Town and the Old Head.

Kinsale is a coastal town situated approximately 16 miles south of Cork City and is home to roughly 2500 people. It is especially known for it's gourmet restaurants, sea fishing and golf which is played at the Old Head of Kinsale golf club . Fantastic scenery make for a very pleasurable 18 holes in this perfectly located golf course. Kinsale's history is marked mainly by a battle in 1601 in which Irish forces under the command of Hugh O' Neill and helped by the Spanish fought the English but were ultimately defeated. CharlesFort, a fortified stronghold sitting toward the mouth of Kinsale harbour is another must see' in this beautiful example of an Irish coastal town.

4. Fota Wildlife Park

Being Ireland's only wildlife park, Fota is popular among tourists and people from Ireland alike. Situated roughly ten miles from Cork City it his home to a wide variety of species which roam among the grasslands much as they would in their natural environment. Fota is also the world's leading breeder of cheetahs and has successfully bred certain species back from near extinction. Fota Arboretum, a collection of trees and shrubs from all over the world is also worth seeing when visiting this popular attraction. In close proximity to the wildlife park is Fota Island golf resort, one of the best golf courses in Ireland.

5. Cork City

Founded by Saint Finbarr in the 6th century, Cork is a city on the south coast of Ireland and is home to approximately 120,000 people excluding suburbs. It is especially known for it's shopping, entertainment, festivals, scenery and food and is considered by many people to be Ireland's most tourist friendly city. Cork has it's own international airport and many cruise liners dock in the nearby town of Cobh. It really is a city that caters for everyone, of all ages and nationalities and will always leave visitors to this city satisfied with their trip.
