4 Reasons Why Australia Is A Better Country To Live In Than The Uk

If you're fed up with living in the UK - something which won't have been

helped by George Osborne's budget on 22 June 2010, showing most notably an increase in VAT - then a move to Australia could be perfect for you and these 4 reasons explain exactly why.

1. There's a better climate - in the UK, as of 22 June 2010, the temperature is averaging at between a very respectable - for the UK - 20 and 25 degrees centigrade during the day. Fantastic weather for everyone, it is warm enough for those who want to sunbathe but not overly hot that outdoor tasks, such as gardening, can't be carried out.

Unfortunately, however, this weather is not the norm in the United Kingdom and if recent reports are anything to go by, rain is forecast and the temperature is to drop for most of the first week in June.

Look at a move to Australia, though and whilst the climate varies all across the country, you can practically take what's happened in the past as an almost guaranteed indicator of what is to come in the future. 4 Reasons Why Australia Is A Better Country To Live In Than The Uk

Whether it's hot, dry summers in Perth or cold, snowy winters in the mountains of New South Wales, you can prepare for the different seasons in advance and be right in your preparations - unlike in the UK.

2. It has the world's most liveable cities - each year The Economist magazine produces a list of the world's most liveable cities, giving each city on the globe a rating of up to 100, depending on an array of different factors.

In 2010, 4 of Australia's main cities featured in the top 10, with only Canada having close to as many cities with 3.

Melbourne was the highest ranked city in third place with a score of 97.5, Sydney came in seventh with 96.1 points and Perth and Adelaide were both ranked equally in eighth position, with ratings of 95.9.

3. There's an easier way of life - if you've visited Australia before, you'll have noticed that things in general just seem that bit more relaxed. In the summer months - and the winter months, in some areas - the parks are filled with people of all ages enjoying themselves, parties and social gatherings of all sizes seem to take place every night and even in the centre of the city, everyone isn't rushing around as though if they don't get to their destination the apocalypse will happen.

4. The cost of living is lower - according to an article in The Sunday Times in February 2008, it was reported that the average pay in the UK for a public sector worker was 498 pounds a week, with those in the private sector earning just short of 60 pound less at 439 pounds a week.

Although no one is doubting that this is a respectable average figure, the two related reasons why Australia is a better place to live in than the UK are that not only are the average weekly earnings of an Australian higher according to the report (572 pounds in the public sector and 523 in the private), but the general cost of living is cheaper - often considerably more so.

This not only means that the average weekly wage in Australia is 74 pounds more for a public sector worker and 84 pounds more for someone in the private sector than in the UK, but you'll be able to buy more with your money than you would be able to in the United Kingdom.
