12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards To Air Live From Las Vegas
It is almost that time of the year where anyone in the music business turns out to watch the unique and memorable performances
. With acts Jennifer Lopez, Enrique Iglesias, Mark Anthony, and Shakira the 12th Annual Latin GRAMMY Award is going to be an amazing event.
The industry's most prestigious award, the GRAMMY, are the only peer-presented award to honor artistic achievement, advocating for the well-being of music makers and ensuring music remains an indelible part of our culture. However, in addition to the GRAMMY Awards, The Recording Academy presents other notable honors. These awards recognize contributions and activities of significance to the recording field that fall outside the framework of the GRAMMY Awards categories, and include:
1.The Latin GRAMMY Awards
The Latin GRAMMY Awards were launched in 2000 with a successful first annual telecast aired on CBS. It was the first primarily Spanish-language prime-time program carried on network television. Like the GRAMMY Awards, the Latin GRAMMYs recognize artistic and technical excellence in the recording arts and sciences by peer vote. It has already come to represent the height of achievement in Latin recording.
2.Lifetime Achievement Award
This special merit award is presented by vote of The Recording Academy's National Trustees to performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.
3.GRAMMY Legend Award
This special award is presented by The Recording Academy to individuals or groups for ongoing contributions and influence in the recording field. The GRAMMY Legend Award was inaugurated in 1990.
4.Technical GRAMMY Award
This unique and special award is presented by vote of The Recording Academy's National Trustees to individuals and/or companies who have made contributions of outstanding technical significance to the recording field.
5.GRAMMY Hall Of Fame
This special merit award was established by The Recording Academy's National Trustees in 1973 to honor recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that are at least 25 years old. Inductees are selected annually by a special member committee of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts.
6.Trustees Award
The Trustees Award is presented by vote of The Recording Academy's National Trustees to individuals who, during their careers in music, have made significant contributions, other than performance, to the field of recording.
7.Latin GRAMMY Hall Of Fame
This special Award was established in 2001 to honor early recordings of lasting qualitative or historical significance that were released more than 25 years ago. Winners are selected annually by a special member committee of eminent and knowledgeable professionals from all branches of the recording arts.
