The main concept of the show is based on the lives of people living on the newly formed planet named Caprica. The rapidly colliding spheres of the mechanical engineers and the humans starts exploring. It affects the life of two families. Due to an explosion and terror everywhere, the two rivals Joseph Adama and Daniel Greystone have to come together to save the humanity. Joseph is a lawyer who fights the cases of underworld criminals.
On the other hand, Daniel is a technologist. Caprica is the pure imagination of its producers and is fictional. It doesnt relate to any past incident or anything. The story is set fifty years back. The main character of the show is Joseph Adama, he was the father of future commander Bill. The story begins with the terrorist attacks on their planet. Joseph loses his wife and daughter in the attacks. The reoccurring theme in the entire show was Ethnicity. To get his wife and daughter back, Daniel starts working on the mission to get them back. The things get complicated in the further episodes. The filming of the program was done in British Columbia.
In the first episode of the show, the buildings which were shown in the background were the real ones. Other external scenes were filmed in Yale town area of Vancouver. The local library also featured in one of the episodes. In the episode where terrorist explosion scenes were filmed, they used the scenes of Vancouvers sky train and a station of Granville.
The broadcast rights of the show were given to Sky1 in United Kingdom and Ireland. In Canada, it premiered on Space channel.
