Will A Courier Company Let Me Ship With Them If I Don't Have An Account?
Usually, the normal practice by which people do business with a courier company involves them opening an account. That way, they establish credit with that company, and are able to access a host of features and services that will not be made available to those who are only shipping on a one time basis. However, you should be able to find a Chicago courier service that will let you ship without an account if you feel that is the best method for your company to fulfill its shipping needs.
While having an account is by far the best way to utilize a courier service successfully, there are some circumstances which might cause you to instead prefer to have a courier company just ship for you on a one time basis. The best time to do this is when you're considering opening an account with a courier company, but aren't sure which one is going to be best for your company. There is no better way to get an accurate assessment of the services that are going to be offered to you than by trying them out first hand.
The primary difference between shipping with and without an account is going to be the payment method. When you ship with a courier account, all you have to do is place your order with the company. They will take care of everything, pick up your package, and you will be billed accordingly based on your agreement.
When you don't have an account through, things go a bit differently. In that situation, it instead is required that you are going to have to pay up front for your shipping. While there might be rare exceptions to this rule, this is usually what you're going to have to do. In order to get an accurate billing amount this means that you'll probably have to have your package weighed before shipping.
The downside to all this is the features that you'll be missing out on if you don't have an account with your courier. While it is true that you might be able to still access things like the only tracking system, you won't have the ability to place orders online like an account holder would. You also won't be able to set up a scheduled pickup route if that is something that could benefit your company. If you ship more than once a month, having a courier account is usually a better option.
