Spa Etiquette - The Dos And Donts Of Getting A Spa Treatment

Going to a spa to get a relaxing treatment that will leave you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated is something that should be recommended to everyone

. When taking up such services though, there are certain codes of conduct that should be kept in mind. First of all, when attending a spa keep in mind that the therapists are there to make you comfortable and are doing you a service by making your body and mind feel relaxed. Its therefore imperative that you treat them and the establishment with proper respect.

One of the other things to remember is to either switch off your mobile phone or put it on discreet so that other patrons will not be disturbed. When booking treatment at a spa, it would be best if you arrive early. At least 15 or 20 minutes, or even earlier if you are planning on using the steam room or a hot bath to help you relax. If you are getting a massage, it usually means that you will have to remove your clothing. Coming early would ensure that you can change into your robe in relative privacy and if you are uncomfortable exposing your body completely, staff will provide you with drapes so that only the part being massaged at the time will be exposed.

Giving feedback is an important aspect of your spa experience. If something is bothering you, please speak up and they will try to adjust accordingly. If for any reason you would like the treatment to be terminated you are entitled to do so as well. The trained staff is supposed to act according to professional protocol at all times, and if for whichever reason you feel they are being unprofessional it is in your best interests to voice your opinion. After a spa treatment the usual code of conduct is to leave a tip of about 15-20%, and if you are provided with a gift certificate it should be asked if a tip has already been included.

There are many places that offer luxury spa treatments the world over. But a chain that has gained a name for itself is the Chuan Spa. Dedicated to helping people reawaken their body, mind and spirit with luxurious pampering, this spa is renowned among the Boston spas that have been established throughout the region.
