Online Prescription Medicine has huge demand

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which was established in 1906 to check rampant adulteration of food and drugs, was started due stress on safety after 1938, the year when the use of a new drug led to the deaths of more than one hundred children in the United States. The unfortunate incident led to emergence of new laws requiring drugs to be proven as safe before they appear in the market. In 1962, the FDA ruled that drugs must be effective as well as safe before they appear in the drug stores.

Nowadays, the industry watchdog regulates the market by making sure that all drugs sold in the country are effective and safe, and by deciding which drugs require prescription from a qualified doctor.

Thus emerged the term Prescription Medicine refers to a medication that requires a directive from a qualified and licensed medical practitioner. Prescription Medicines or Prescription Drugs are usually more powerful than those sold over-the-counter drugs and thus may cause more serious side effects if inappropriately used. Hence, these medications are sold only under a qualified medical practitioner's direction.

But, the process of obtaining a prescription from a doctor is expensive as well as time-consuming for the simple reason that a patient has to pay a visit to a doctor to get the prescription. Then he/she has to go to a community drug store to get the prescribed medicine. According to different surveys, people in the United States are paying higher prescription drug prices than people in any other country of the world.

Higher prescription drug prices and inconvenience in getting prescription from a community doctor encourage Americans to get Prescription DrugsOnline.
