Massage Spa Alleviate Pain More Effectively
Tired, stressed, feel you need a break? There are many types of pain relief, but none as luxurious as a massage at a spa. We have all seen those day spas, massage shops etc. Many of us have frequent massages, yet so many of us haven't even considered it. Well, consider it!
Do you have aches, pains, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure? Maybe your ailment is diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, quitting smoking, depression, found what ails you yet? Perhaps it's lower back pain, maybe arthritis? All of these, as well as a tremendous amount of other ailments can be treated with massage therapy. Many physical rehabilitation programs accept this as an acceptable form of treatment. Millions of people the world over vow that massage helps relieve these symptoms, as well as the tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness.
Some people go through a series of therapeutic massages, which is a long on-going process, usually performed in a clinic or doctor's office. Maybe you didn't know that a trip to your local spa can work wonders for the body, mind and soul. Trained, certified and experienced therapists will see to it that you leave feeling rested, renewed, and energized. These spas have a huge variety of massages available. This will revitalize you. It is up to you, you may enjoy a relaxing massage, soothing facial, restorative body treatment, or combine therapies for a luxurious spa day . Different spas offer different packages and different massages. They vary from a basic, Swedish or relaxation spa, a specialty such as a deep tissue massage, a sport or shiatsu massage, reflexology. Most will further offer an Ultra such as reiki, myofacial, and pre and post natal massages. There is also luxury massage which can involve a body wrap, a cold, warm or warm/hot stone, and luxury shiatsu. Some spas even offer double body works that involves two therapists working on different areas at the same time.
In the early 1800's, massage therapy became very popular and this increased until the 1930's and 40's. As modern medicine developed, the benefits of massage therapy were discounted. It was used less and less. In the 1960's and 1970's nurses began to use it to alleviate pain in patients. Again, its popularity grew until finally in the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta massage was deemed a core medical service, which gave it great credibility. It's good enough for the Olympians, why not you?
Anyway, in order to find what suits you, you must try very many different types. Trying different massages sure beats researching different ones! You can seek by oil, method or culture! You may find that Lomi Lomi massage in Hawaii, Samoan, Shiatsu, Thai or even Chinese suits you better. If not, then maybe try Swedish Massage, which, incidentally in Sweden is known as classical massage.
No matter what the method you choose, you can rest assured, whatever the problem, from pain relief to anxiety, depression and a variety of diseases, you will find one to help. There is no way to blind-test massage therapy, as the person being tested is going to be touched, and we cannot deny that the sense of touch is very therapeutic by itself. Be sure to find your favorite massage spa, and what type of massage works best for you!
