How Well Do YouTrack Your Work Online?
One technique that I have used for a while is tracking the SEO not only on my own sites, but on the various sites that I use for syndication.
While most people can't be bothered with this, it can be a lot easier to do, especially if you are using some good authority sites for syndication.
If you follow the 60 day plan, you will have remote blogs, hubs, lenses, guest posts, youtube videos, and all kinds of great content that you are sharing in various places that you go to chill when you are bumming around this amazing place where we work.
The thing about these sites is that they have some authority. I think a big part of the latest google update was to knock down some of the rankings these sites were getting based on authority alone, but they still have a better chance to get you some high search rankings if you follow up with some good SEO link building. In fact, if you have a new blog with no authority, you can often get rankings quicker and with a lot less work by using these authority sites.
But, that leaves the problem of tracking your work.
You see, most people who use these sites post and run, and don't care about them getting ranking. They mistakenly think that if they get those pages ranking, they are just helping someone else's site and not their own.
The truth is quite different, especially if you have links on those pages. For example, if you have videos on youtube, you should be trying to share those videos with your social network, and getting them ranking up the search ladder. this will help them to get more views, and send traffic to your home site.
Unfortunately, tracking all this work can quickly become a nightmare.
In order to make this process a bit easier, I use a software tool called Traffic Travis.
In this tool, I can set up tracking for multiple sites, and see where they rank in search. By doing this with multiple sites, you can even take over page 1 with all of your own content/ that pretty much garuntees that you will get the majority of that traffic to your site, as long as you did your job right with the initial push.
