Guns N Roses Tickets - Guns N' Roses Unveils Canadian, South American Dates
Guns N' Roses may have released its latest album Chinese Democracy in 2008
, but the band is planning on hitting the road to close out 2009 and ring in 2010 and, let's be honest, who is going to argue with Axl Rose? In November, Paste Magazine reported that Guns N' Roses was to embark on a tour of South America, Southeast Asia and Canada in the coming months. The veteran metal band kicked off the first leg of its tour with a show in Taipei, Taiwan on Dec. 11, 2009, and although not yet confirmed, multiple GN'R forums suggest that Axl & Co. will perform in Buenos Aires, Peru, Chile and Venezuela in the new year.
After playing in Asia and prior to performing in South America, with a batch of Canadian dates lined up. After a Jan. 13 show in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Guns N' Roses will perform in Calgary, Alberta; Edmonton, Alberta; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Regina, Saskatchewan; Hamilton, Ontario; London, Ontario; Montreal, Quebec; Toronto, Ontario; Ottawa, Ontario; Quebec City, Quebec; Moncton, New Brunswick and will then finish things off in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Feb. 4. Don't miss your chance to see the boys live; get your Guns N' Roses tickets online.
Guns N' Roses' road trip will see guitarist and songwriter Dj Ashba joining the rest of the band on the tour bus, as he replaced Nine Inch Nails guitarist Robin Fink on the roster last March. In a statement on their official website, Axl Rose revealed, "Guns' radar has silently been aware of Dj's presence for quite some time. He brings a fresh approach to our particular brand of mayhem expanding the tapestry of live shows. Once Dj's name was in the hat, the hat disappeared!!"
The band has been bringing that "particular brand of mayhem" since first forming in 1985. Along with Slash, Izzy Stadlin, Steven Adler and Duff McKagan, the band inked a record deal with Geffen Records, soon releasing their debut album, Appetite for Destruction, in 1986. Iconic singles like "Sweet Child O' Mine" and "Welcome to the Jungle" made the band a household name, at least for metal fans, and the band trudged on into the '90s. Despite enduring some growing pains internally, singles like "Paradise City" allowed Guns N' Roses to ride the grunge era out and remain a force on the music scene.
When Axl Rose left the lineup in the late '90s, fans worried that would be the end of the band, but in November 2008 they finally released its years-in-the-making album Chinese Democracy. Featuring 14 new tracks of the metal music GN'R fans were hungry for, the album was the band's first studio album since 1993's The Spaghetti Incident? (that's 13 years if you lost count!). Hopefully fans won't have to wait as long for the follow-up effort to Chinese Democracy, but Axl Rose and the rest of the crew will be busy on tour in the coming months so wait and see!
