1. There are two types of fats, Saturated fats and unsaturated fats. Omega 3 is unsaturated fat. A diet which is rich in omega 3 fatty acids can help in lowering triglycerides and it increases the HDL cholesterol which is considered as the good cholesterol. It is beneficial to control high blood pressure and acts as an anticoagulant to prevent the clotting in blood.

3. Omega 3 fatty acids control the amount of protein which accumulates in our body which causes Alzheimers disease. DHA type of omega 3 fatty acids is useful in curing this disease. Omega 3 is beneficial in several other health problems related to kidneys, digestive system and heart.
4. Fish oil and its supplements help in several other diseases like asthma, depression, cancer, painful menstruation, eczema, psoriasis (a skin disease), stroke etc. Fish oil helps in slowing down the tumor and fights against the disease like cancer.
