The Internet has provided a whole array of options and tutors for the struggling student. What one teacher cannot help with at the students school can be helped by way of contact with professorial tutors from other schools.

Though there are those who are embarrassed to acknowledge it, student performance plays a key role in teacher promotions, job advancements, and overall instructor reputation. Teachers that teach students who perform well on standardized tests are often extolled and promoted, while teachers that teach students who perform poorly are often criticized and have their records reviewed with scrutiny. It is a common belief that teacher giftedness will show its face in the classroom and on standardized tests.
