Why Teachers Should Recommend Their Students For Online Tutoring

Teachers see students every day and work with them in the classroom

. Teachers are often there with students after hours and try to help them come to grips with the material with which students struggle. There is often one student in a teachers class, however, that cannot master the material. The teacher has tried every angle possible, hoping that something would click in the students mind and spark the knowledge that the teacher has attempted to instill for a long time but to no avail. When a teacher is at his or her last rope, the best thing to do is recommend the student for online tutoring.

Teachers should recommend their students for online tutoring because Internet tutoring provides another means of extra help for the struggling academic student. Prior to the rise of the Internet, teachers were simply at their wits end when a student could not understand the material. Teachers did not know what to do; they shrugged their shoulders, counted the student a loss, and returned to teaching the students that could master the material. In other situations, teachers passed students from one grade to the next without considering how the student would fare in the next grade if he or she could not pass the current grade. Some teachers turned to other teachers in the same subject area for guidance. When other teachers could not help the student, the original teacher would simply give up and leave the student to his or her own misery. The Internet has provided a whole array of options and tutors for the struggling student. What one teacher cannot help with at the students school can be helped by way of contact with professorial tutors from other schools.

Next, teachers should recommend their students for online tutoring because student performance is key to a teachers portfolio. Though there are those who are embarrassed to acknowledge it, student performance plays a key role in teacher promotions, job advancements, and overall instructor reputation. Teachers that teach students who perform well on standardized tests are often extolled and promoted, while teachers that teach students who perform poorly are often criticized and have their records reviewed with scrutiny. It is a common belief that teacher giftedness will show its face in the classroom and on standardized tests.
