Who Benefits From A 2011 NFL Lockout?
The NFL Lock Out is the best thing that could ever happen to our sour economic environment. It doesn't take a genius to notice the gas prices soaring beyond the clouds. We hear the grim reminder on a daily basis about the unemployment rate being at its all time high and those of us who are lucky enough to have a job, our wages are stagnating. We need to take a serious look at the wealth in this country. Here we have the most blessed country on the face of this earth and we pay football players millions upon millions of dollars to run around and throw a ball to each other? I remember when football first begin. The players all worked a 9-5 just like everyone else. They played for the love of the sport, not to be recognized in the spotlight. Now players get payed millions of dollars and they act like spoiled brats, running to and fro looking for the biggest check! None of them have the true love for the game like the old school players had. Sports in general has changed for the worst, because the almighty dollar bill has become more important. Add up all the players on every team of every sport, who make over a million dollars per year. If you do your math correctly, you will begin to see where all of the money in our so civilized society goes. Just add up all the millions that all the players get paid from one team. Now that adds up to be a lot of money being wasted. If we, as a civilized society, would take the necessary steps, towards seriously looking at how professional sports effect our economy, we would begin to take all the right steps in puttingthose millions back into our economy. A great shift in our economic environment will occur. Companies will have money to grow and hire the average common man, so he/she can support his/her family. An NFL lockout will be the best thing that happens to the American people. In fact, a complete sports lockout will send a gentle breeze of relief to those who find themselves struggling. Bring back the true players who love the game for the game and an NFL lockout wouldn't even become an issue. The players in the NFL, NBA and all the other major sports, need to shift their priorities, but even a die hard sports fan cannot sympathize with all the crying and tar dropping that's going on in today's sports. The glory days are far gone, as money hungry players and industry insiders bleed the blood of the hard-working American people.
