Access is vital. The setting may be perfect but how easy is it for your guests to arrive? What if you have elderly guests or folk who are disabled? Just because the location is stunning, make sure people can arrive in comfort.
Every church has a roof. Getting married outdoors may involve bad weather. Being married on a beach as the heavens open is not much fun. You need a fall-back position if the weather turns nasty.
Dress according to the location. If you choose flimsy material for your outfit and have a hairstyle which invites a disaster, remember that the wind can blow and if you're outdoors that's exactly what might happen. Plan for your setting.
Seating and sweating. If you marry outdoors, presumably it will be in the warmer months. Can your guests sit down? Do they have easy access to water or soft drinks? What provision have you made for toilet facilities? A church wedding means no such problems but outdoors introduces a whole new ball game.
Loudspeakers or what? If you are exchanging your vows outdoors, it is nice if your guests can hear. In a natural amphitheater that may not be a problem but otherwise your voices will be carried away on the wind. Think about a microphone, even lapel mics, and a simple public address system will mean your guests can be part of your ceremony.
Don't forget the dining. If you are offering food outdoors, even nibbles, make sure the caterer has experience in serving in such a setting. Make sure the food on offer is appropriate for outdoor dining. The setting may well determine the menu.
