The V Festival is an annual music festival held in the United Kingdom during the penultimate weekend in August. The event is held at two parks simultaneously which share the same bill; artists perform at one location on Saturday and then swap on Sunday. The sites are located at Hylands Park in Chelmsford and Weston Park in South Staffordshire. Although predominantly a rock music festival, a wide range of musical genres are accepted; in recent years pop acts have become ever more common.
Offering a bill of predominantly commercial acts, crowd favourites, and radio friendly indie upstarts in a party atmosphere. V Festival returns on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August 2011. The official V Festival 2011 line-up has not been revealed. However, it was recently reported that Eminem (who would be joined by Rihanna for Love the Way You Lie) and Arctic Monkeys would headline the event this year. The V Festival always has a brilliant line up of bands and last year was no exception . headliners were Kings Of Leon & Kasabian. V Festival 2011 will be the 16th time the event has taken place, with many of the biggest acts of the last couple of decades having played to audiences in the South and the North on successive days. V is one of the few major festivals to have incorporated pop acts into its line-ups, from Mel C in 1996 to Katy Perry and Lady GaGa in 2009. The event takes place on sites at Staffordshire and Chelmsford on August 20-21 next summer, with the first batch of 'early bird' tickets on sale tomorrow two days after this year's event was wrapped up. Tickets for V Festival 2011 will go onsale from 9am on Friday 4th March 2011. Eminem, Rihanna and Arctic Monkeys could all be set to play this years V Festival, according to reports. Last year's festival was headlined by Kings Of Leon and Kasabian.
