Uninsured People Around Us
If you look around you will see that there are many people around you living without proper insurance
. Although it may not be obvious there are people all around that need insurance but haven't the funds for it. There are many people around that have been laid off that need insurance coverage very badly. There are also many people that are just getting too old for their parents insurance and still others that are working dead end jobs that will never pay them enough to be able to get insurance.
If you have ever been to the doctor and paid the bill out of your own pocket, you know how expensive that can be. It is no wonder those without the proper insurance wait, until they can no longer deal with the health issue before seeing a doctor. If there is a need to see a specialists, the expense just is too great. If these health issues aren't addressed and treated it can and usually does affect those with insurance, through the spread of communicable diseases, putting everyone at risk.
People living without insurance affect everyone without realizing it. If someone gets an illness that is too far gone by the time they get seen, they will likely die. They could leave a family behind that will be without any means to take care of themselves. They will also have been unlikely to have paid for their medical care in the end. This means that people with insurance coverage will likely be covering expenses such as those through raised prices at hospitals and clinics.
Health coverage or not, everyone within our society will be affected by those who cannot afford doctor, hospital or specialists services. Expensive, out of reach health care, for many many citizens affect everyone within any society. If you still have a job with heath benefits, you know the good affordable rates offered by your employer. The scores of unemployed or underemployed without these opportunities are certainly not helping our economy recover in a timely manner, making affordable health insurance somewhat of a major urgent economic and social issue.
The current health care crisis has predictably become a hot political issue. Arguments and debates continue to sound out convincing facts and points from both sides. Some see and understand the need for everyone, regardless of financial status, to have equal access to health care. Other arguments insist this change would encourage health care professionals and the industry to slowly adjust to lower standards and decrease the quality of health care, therefore making the quality less than desirable for everyone. Fears and agendas will continue to make the health care issues hot and fierce until it is settled.
