U4GM Guide: How to Win ARC Raiders Vault Runs
Vaults in ARC Raiders don't feel dangerous just because the loot is good. They're dangerous because everyone knows the loot is good. The second you start messing with a terminal, fuse box, battery slot, or door sequence, you're making noise in a world where noise gets people killed. You might be there for blueprints, rare parts, or even to buy ARC Raiders Items later to fill gaps in your loadout, but inside the raid itself, none of that matters if your squad panics. A Vault is less like a treasure room and more like a dinner bell. ARC units hear it. Other players read it. And the smart ones are already moving before the door is fully open.
Clear the room before touching the puzzle
A lot of failed Vault runs start the same way. Someone gets excited, runs straight to the panel, and starts the interaction while drones are still floating nearby. That's asking for trouble. Before anyone commits to the Vault sequence, the area around it needs to be cleaned up. Not perfectly, maybe, because raids are messy. But enough that a random patrol bot isn't going to interrupt the player on the terminal or force the whole squad to shift position at the worst possible moment. Check corners. Listen for metal footsteps. Look up as well, not just down the hallway. If the room isn't under control before the puzzle starts, it definitely won't be under control once the alarm goes off.
Stop looting like a crowd
The worst thing a squad can do after opening a Vault is pile into the same spot and stare at containers. It feels natural, sure. Everyone wants the good stuff. But that little huddle is exactly what ambushers are waiting for. A cleaner setup is simple: one player grabs the valuable loot, the others hold space. That means watching doors, ladders, ziplines, vents, catwalks, and any ugly little angle where a player could peek with a rifle. The looter shouldn't be sorting their bag like they're at a market stall. Grab the priority items and move. If something isn't worth dying for, leave it behind.
Expect someone above you
Vault campers are common because the strategy works. Plenty of players don't bother opening the Vault themselves. They wait near it, usually above it, and let someone else do the loud part. Rafters, pipes, broken platforms, and side balconies all become murder spots once the alert kicks in. That's why vertical awareness matters so much. Don't just sweep the doorway and call it safe. Tilt your aim up. Use smoke when crossing open floor. Drop EMPs when ARC pressure and player pressure arrive at the same time. You're not trying to win a clean duel every time. Sometimes you're just buying three seconds to break sight, reposition, or bait a greedy push into your teammate's angle.
Leave before the raid turns on you
Opening the Vault isn't the win. Getting out with the payload is. Once the key loot is secured, hanging around usually adds risk without adding much value. Pick an exit route before the door opens, not after shots start landing. Avoid the obvious tunnel if it sounds busy. Take height, cut through cover, or use a zipline if it gets you out of the engagement radius faster. Players who treat ARC Raiders Items as something worth protecting, not just collecting, tend to make better calls here. Greed gets squads wiped. A clean exit, even with one less shiny component, keeps the run alive.
