What is the best way to impress the person sitting behind the desk right in front of you? When you are applying for insurance sales jobs, you better keep in your mind sweet talk will get you nowhere. Although insurance is not a field where you tempt but convincing your customer to buy a policy is just like tempting a young kid with a sweet as he goes to take out his teeth. It should be kept in mind that writing your own job description as an insurance sales agent is very important, as each and every insurance sales agent has a thorough job description in black and white.

In general, insurance sales agents who are usually referred to as "producers", just do not sell one type of insurance. There is a long list and they specialize at least in a few of them. These categories must be mentioned in your description in detail such as life and health, casualty and property, etc. A large number of insurance agents do their work from a small office; from there they get in touch with their customers and brief them about different policies which they sell.

Usually though these agents are found working the field rather than sitting in the office, purpose for being in the field is to meet up with clients, draw up a policy or probe into claims. The working hours of insurance sales agents vary and are not the regular office hours of any other field of work. The agent plans his own working schedule which is usually in the evening or at weekends as he is able to meet up with clients.

Insurance sales jobs do have its plus points. When writing a job description, be specific about the responsibilities and job details and do not forget to include your key qualifications for the said job.

"Title of the Job

"Department (the division and address, etc.)

"The person you report to (designation of superior, address, describe management structure)

"Job Objective (to be described within three to four sentences)

"Details of responsibilities and accountability (principal duties, continuing responsibilities, and accountability)

"Relationship and Role (internal / external co-operation)

"Specifications of the Job (essential skills and experience required)

The insurance sales jobs do need a job description so be ready when you aim to become an insurance agent. It not only helps in clarifying the responsibilities of an insurance agent but also details what the helps to know the importance of that position he holds. It is a work, which can be finished within a few hours.
