The Processes Involved In Laser Teeth Whitening

The solution is usually made from hydrogen peroxide, a good bleaching agent, and typically comes in the form of gel. Prior to the application of this substance, the dentist may apply a solution that will help fight teeth sensitivity during the teeth whitening process.
3. Actual laser application. Once the lips and gums are covered and the teeth coated with the whitening substance, the laser is now carefully applied on the teeth. The laser reacts with the whitening solution, and the reaction produced is responsible for the removal of the stains and any other dirt on the teeth. Once the treatment is over, the patient can expect the teeth to be eight to ten shades whiter than their previous color. The length of the overall treatment, however, may vary from one patient to another. It can range from one session up to several consultations, depending on the condition of the teeth - the stains present and the toughness of these stains.
After the procedure, the dentist advises patients to refrain from consuming food that usually causes staining. This includes coffee and tea. Some habits like smoking must also be reduced or totally eliminated. Some dentists provide an after-kit that can help patients whiten their teeth even more or simply help them maintain their white teeth for a long time. With the proper use of this kit and by following the dentist's advice, the laser teeth whitening process will surely give the best results.
