, friends, co workers, and scientists on television and that is you must consume breakfast because it is the most important meal of the day. Well, guess what? It is the most important meal of the day for many reasons, especially when it comes to fat loss. Here they are.

Reason 1: Blunts the release of cortisol. Cortisol is a stress hormone that is highest in the morning and in stressful situations. Too much of it in the blood stream is not a good thing. By consuming carbohydrates, this blunts the release of cortisol because of the production of insulin.

Reason 2: It increases your metabolism for the rest of the day. By consuming a large meal for breakfast, your metabolism is stoked for the rest of the day, sort of like a fire. If you do not consume breakfast after waking up, your metabolism will be sluggish at best because your body will sense a starvation situation.

Reason 3: This is my favorite. There was a study that I recently read that found people who consume a solid meal of carbs and protein with minimal fat for breakfast had a lesser chance of over eating, binging, and giving into cravings towards the later part of the day. This was compared to two groups who had just a protein shake or a protein shake with carbohydrates.

So do you a favor, don't skimp on breakfast. Make a healthy meal out of it because your fat loss efforts depend on it.
