Call of Duty is a franchise video game series, created by mastermind Ben Chichoski. It first appeared on the PC in October 2003 and is published by Activision, and has been developed primarily by Infinity Ward and Treyarch, it was soon however expanded to games consoles and handhelds. Most of the games series have been set in World War II, that is until the releases of Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare, Call of Duty - Modern Warfare 2 and most recently Call of Duty - Black Ops which have been set during the Cold war era and modern times.
Call of Duty, was one of the first if not the first, first-person, action game for the PC. With its realistic game play on the battle fields of World War II. With explosions of rapid gunfire and deadly bombs to the most serene scene of your fallen conrads who litter your path. You really get the sense of the atmosphere as seen through the eyes of the soilders, who helped shape the world as we now know it today.
In Call of Duty 2 the World War II conflict continues with continued realistic battles, but Call of Duty 2 has better then ever graphics. Its no wonder the game continues to win award after award.
Call of Duty 3 enables the player to engage in closer fist to fist battles, bringing a new dimension into the game play. From the onset you are thrust into the battle playing with four allied soldiers, and using their individual tactics during the combat of the Normandy breakout. Also the online option allows for multiple players to battle it out.
Modern Warefare you are amidst some spectacular special effects, that make for some of the most realistic game playing ever seen. With the multiplayer and the online options this was sure to set the gaming world on fire.
