Team Imperato sides with the people in asking for fair media coverage for independents

Miami September 20, 2010 -- Daniel Imperato took to the campaign trail Sunday reminding voters

, "My solutions are quite different than those of my opponents from the interchangeable corporate parties. The tough questions, innovative answers and logical solutions that I have proposed since running for president in 2008 are largely coming true and proving to be the right formula."

Fact-checking bears out these truths. For instance, back in 2006 he predicted the sub-prime market collapse and offered a reasonable solution two years ago. Imperato's plan was a simple cleanup. Set the mortgage rates that were escalating out of reach to a simple five percent. Let the financial institutions take a write-down on the loss between the 5% and the flex rate. Plus extending the term of the mortgages to as long as fifty years would have settled the biggest issue of monthly payments and the foreclosure issue would never have materialized. That scenario would have kept more people in their homes and kept the paper holders solvent negating the need for this massive pre-election government bailout that occurred in 2008.

Despite accurate predictions and workable solutions to our nation's problems before they become a crises, no media has been willing to pick up Daniel's exertions to ensure the public is well-informed. Imperato implored voters to "pay closer attention beyond the 'lame-stream' media and stop looking at the ballot with blinders on as though there were only two choices. Ideas like these reside all throughout the platforms of independent and third party candidates. Our voices must be heard."

In Orlando Saturday, Imperato calmly laid out reasons that he is burning up inside about the way the media treats independents and how a formal institutional bias exists in newsrooms and TV and radio studios everywhere that conspire to keep more voices from turning into more choices for voters especially swing voters who make up one-third of the electorate.

Fanning the fuel of discontent within the Imperato camp is the in-your-face refusal of most media houses to cover the Imperato campaign, publish their editorials or invite them into the debates. Naming names the Imperato team is disappointed that there will be a two-party candidate only debate hosted by Univision on October 8. Especially disappointing since Daniel himself has had numerous business dealing with Univision over the years.

When a question arose about specific media manipulations other than the ones in Florida, Daniel discussed instances of media arrogance, referring to the immediate dismissal of Christine O'Donnell's chances of securing a senate seat in Delaware. Once again Daniel politely addressed the media bias, "The pundits and pollsters act as though they can never be wrong. So because they failed in predicting that their establishment' candidate would go down in the primary, they immediately changed their prognostication for the outcome of the November election from Leans Republican' to Leans Democrat'. They know this will sway a certain number of voters who just do not have time to research the candidates. This is the role the media relishes: Kingmaker!"

Invoking some of O'Donnell's words, Imperato reminded those gathered to ask questions, "I too have been called wacky when I ran for president in 2008. Especially when trying to unify the major-minor parties. Even members of existing parties outside of the establishment are stuck in a comfort zone that will never get them elected. That is why we need to mobilize 'We the people' to turn out and vote the entire two-party system out of power."

Imperato begins his 40-day, 40-night fast and campaign tour Monday. He will be in West Palm Beach to further elaborate on media bias issues and his platform for bringing jobs to Florida.
