A few of the problems that are usually encountered with long nails are cracking and dirty nails. No one wants to have cracked nails as they are very painful to have. This exposes the sensitive skin under the nails which can also make it prone to infections. Unclean nails on the other hand, also promote the proliferation of microbes and may also lead to infection.
The food that we eat contributes to the condition of our nails. The healthier food that we eat, the stronger our nails become. Not only should you take time to teach your children the right nail care but you should also teach them how to eat right. This prevents the nails from any further damage as well as keeping your body very healthy.

Or you can do it the other way around and give punishments if you catch them nail biting.
Aside from nail biting, another common cause of nails being cracked and broken too easily is using them as tools. Nails are not made to open lids or digging. They are for the protection of the sensitive skin beneath them. The correct tools and equipment must be used and nails should not be used as substitutes. It is also important to wear protective equipment when nails are going to be exposed to potentially harmful situations.
By starting early, we can instill good nail care habits to our children while they are still young. This way, they won't have any problems when it comes to maintaining strong and healthy nails in the future. This will also be a great way to ensure that they practice good personal grooming habits and always have a neat and clean appearance.
