Tarragona has been described by the famous poet Virgilius as being the most pleasant place to relax. Tarragona is the deepest Port of Spain and the most productive fishing port in Catalonia. It initially attracted the Romans in the 3rd century BC; three centuries later it became the capital of the province, a position that it still occupies today. Tarragona will attract you with its archaeological sites, the interesting museums and the unique architecture, so you should put it on your list of places to visit. Being under Roman control, the ruins in the Roman Amphitheatre represent one of the most important sightseeing places in Tarragona. About 14,000 spectators could watch the gladiator fights and the executions that used to take place in this amphitheatre. If your curiosity for the past is still not satisfied, you can visit the 6th century Santa Maria del Miracle Church, or the Romanitat Museum, a place where you can admire some of the oldest objects discovered in this city. The Archaeological Museum hosts a mosaic representing the head of Medusa, which became so popular, that it was transformed into the symbol of Tarragona.

You can dance here until the morning comes on traditional Spanish music, so they are also a perfect way to come into contact with the Spanish culture.
