Sunburn treatment: How to treat sunburn?

As the sun roars high in the sky, the first thing that comes to mind is the painful memory of sun burns

The type of Sunburn Treatment given to a person depends on the degree of the burn. Usually sun burn is classified into following three categories

1st degree burns

2nd degree burns

3rd degree burns

Out of the above three mentioned types the third degree burns are the most sever ones. It must be noted that the sun burns are not fatal but are very painful. The sunburn treatment for all the three types is different. A home remedy can be employed as a sunburn treatment for the 1st degree burn but in case of a severe burn one should consult a professional doctor.

Sun burn treatment for 1st degree treatment

The sunburn treatment for a first degree burn should be given to the person when any kind of redness or rashes is seen. The redness is an indication of sun burns. The sunburn treatment options for the first degree burns have been listed as under:

cool compresses with equal parts of milk and water may suffice

You may also use cold compresses with Burrow solution.

The aloe Vera leaves contains a jelly like substance which is also beneficial for the sunburn treatment.

Cool bath can be of great help.

It must be noted that one should not apply any thing with oil base as it can worsen the situation.

Medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and naproxen are useful, especially when started early.

Sun burn treatment for 2nd and 3rd degree burns

The second and third degree burns are severe compared to the 1st degree burns. They are characterized by redness, rashes and sometimes blister also. They need to be taken care of else could give immense pain. Instead of trying to treat them at home the doctor should be consulted at the right time before it gets too late.

There are several ways of preventing the sunburns. As it is always said prevention is better then cures. Some f these strategies

have been listed as under:

Avoid going out in the sun especially during the time from 10 am to 2 pm. It is the time when the sun rays cause

maximum damage.

When ever you go out then try to keep your body covered in order to avoid contact with sun rays.

Sun blocking creams are looked upon as an effective measure against the sun burns.

Select the required SPF for the cream you choose.

Drinking loads of water can help replenish the loss of fluids from the body due to sun.

Hence we can conclude on the pretext that the sunburn treatment should not be delayed as the consequences might not be fatal but can cause unbearable pain.
