But there are drawbacks that the drug would be having a short-lived effect and it has got side effects.
The next step is to cure the disease and for that, the drugs of choice are, Glatiramer acetate and interferons. They would suppress the autoimmune effect of the body and thus would protect myelin from getting damaged. Apart from them, the ms treatment includes, drugs for specific problems like fatigue, dizziness, loss of vision, bowel insufficiency etc. there are some points which should be taken into consideration apart from the conventional drug therapy. Oxygenation: the nervous tissue needs to have oxygen so that it can work properly and one of the causes of multiple sclerosis is lack of oxygen. So oxygen is being supplied to the nervous tissue so that the normal physiological functions can be maintained.
Physiotherapy: it is recommended so that the patients are able to move and do the routine work. This would also help to remove fatigue from the muscles and would provide relief in the joint pain.
Vitamins and minerals: the patients should take a lot of fluids and should also have multi vitamins so that the general weakness should not come in the body. Multiple sclerosis would make the muscles weak and there would be generalized pain in the body. To avoid the same, the patients are supposed to have vitamins and minerals.
