On successful completion of the RYA Day Skipper theory, you will have acquired the basic navigational skills and general seamanship knowledge you will need for daylight passage making in coastal waters.
The RYA Day Skipper Practical Sailing Course is designed to provide students with the skill and confidence to assume full responsibility for the yacht and its crew including; supplies, engine maintenance, sail selection, passage planning, watches, navigation, pilotage and weather forecasting. This will enable students to undertake short passages in tidal waters as skipper and berth the boat safely.
SeaJay's Solent sailing school also offer a 9 day RYA Day Skipper fast track combined practical and theory course, which provides students with their RYA Day Skipper and Day Skipper Theory Certificates in one hit. This is perhaps one of SeaJay's Solent Sailing School's most popular courses.
All RYA Day Skipper courses take place on board a Beneteau First 405 40ft yacht "SeaJay-IV". She is a modern, fast, comfortable, fin keel, ocean-going yacht, ideal for both novices and skilled sailors alike.
