Romantic St Lucia Weddings At Smugglers Cove

In the TTG article, Phillippa Jacks got the low-down on St Lucia weddings at the romantic resort by interviewing the resort's personal wedding coordinator, Lorna Charles-James, who gave readers an insider's view on why more brides and grooms choose to tie the knot at this fabulous hotel.Number of Weddings per Day - when asked by Jacks how many weddings the resort held each day, Lorna replied that usually two but up to a maximum of three, as demand was often high. However, their promise to brides and grooms was to never hold two destination weddings at the same time, allowing plenty of time between weddings so that nobody had to be rushed out of their ceremony location. If there were three weddings scheduled for the same day, one would typically take place at 11am, the next one would be arranged for 2pm and the last one for 4pm.
Most Popular Wedding Venues - at Smugglers Cove couples can choose from two beautiful wedding locations, Lorna explained; one is the overwater gazebo, raised above the sea and the second one being the beach. The gazebo by far is the most popular among couples, as it gives them a more secluded location, a bit further from the rest of the resort, giving bride and groom a greater sense of intimacy and romance, not to mention the spectacular views across the whole bay.
What do Free Weddings at Smugglers Cove include? - according to Lorna, the "Smugglers Wedding" package includes all government and registrar fees, the services of a clergy or magistrate, a personal wedding coordinator, a decorated garden at a historical landmark or ocean-side wedding site, bouquet for the bride and boutonniere for the groom, a single tier wedding cake, champagne, postcards of the property and island and even a best man or maid of honour if needed. This package is free for couples staying seven night or more in a deluxe category room or higher. A 10-night stay automatically qualifies couples for a free "Unforgettable Wedding" package, an upgraded version which also includes a special dinner fort two, manicures for the bride and groom and a wedding morning breakfast in bed. Lorna also added that all wedding packages at Smuggler Cove were fully customisable and could be personalised with colour-customised chairs and extras such as hen and stag parties, spa treatments and more.
Special Wedding Requests - when Phillippa asked Lorna about the strangest requests she had received from couples booking weddings abroad with the hotel, she replied that while have some have asked to get married in a bikini, this is strictly forbidden and when others have asked to get married with their feet in the sea, this is possible but the resort can't ask the registrar to do the same and stand in water. Following the Royal Wedding earlier this year, demand for horse and carriages has increased dramatically, Lorna added.
